Biography

Kelly Kelly De Rose (violin) is the Orchestra Director at Mona Shores High School. She earned her Bachelor of Music Education degree from Eastern Michigan University (1995) and her Master of Music degree from Central Michigan University (2003). Prior to Mona Shores she taught orchestra for Chippewa Hills Public Schools and middle school band and choir for Kittery Public Schools in Maine. Kelly is active in both the Michigan Chapter of the American String Teachers Association (MASTA) and the Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association (MSBOA) and regularly adjudicates MSBOA Solo & Ensemble Festivals. She has taught privately and has performed professionally for the Maine State Ballet and the Midland Symphony Orchestra. Kelly resides in West Michigan with her husband, Bob, and her two children Parker and Carter.

AngelaAngela Corbin (violin) is the Orchestra Director at North Muskegon Public Schools. She earned her Masters in Music Education from Michigan State University. She has studied violin with Minghuan Xu at Grand Valley State University. She has also studied with Jean Manning of Muskegon and Stacey Woolley of the Cincinnati Symphony. As a private and class music instructor for over ten years, teaching music through string instruction has been one of Angela’s deepest passions. She has also taught elementary and vocal music for North Muskegon, Fruitport Community Schools and Calvary Christian School, served on the boards of both the West Michigan Youth Symphony and the Education Committee of the West Michigan Symphony. She frequently serves as a church musician, and enjoys performing and recording with Christopher Cordle, The Fiction Writers and other local musicians. Angela lives in West Michigan with her husband, Ryan, and their two daughters, Maya and Sophia.

SaraSara Sali (viola) is a local violist and private lesson instructor who has worked with both Grand Haven Middle and High School students for over 10 year. She received a Bachelor of Music with Performance Emphasis from Grand Valley State University. She studied with Deborah Craioveanu from Hope College and Robert Byrens from Grand Valley State University.. She lives and teaches in Spring Lake with her husband, Travis, and her son, Owen.

 

 

MelissaMelissa Meyers (cello) has been the Director of Orchestras at Grand Haven High School since the fall of 2003. She a graduate of Grand Valley State University. Melissa has taught orchestra at all levels and is the founder of the middle school fiddling program and GOTAK, the high school’s after school alternative string group. During her tenure at Grand Haven, the orchestra program has continued to grow every year. She currently teaches 5th grade orchestra, and the high school’s Concert, Symphony and Chamber Orchestras. Melissa also serves as the district’s K-12 Music Department Chair. She enjoys shoe shopping and spending time with her husband, Daniel, and their three princesses–Danielle, Ariana and Elaina.
